Who we are
We work locally to connect people with nature: to strengthen our relationship with the land, our water and all living beings that share our home and to foster commitment to protecting and revitalizing our natural heritage and the ecological health of San Miguel de Allende.
Our History & Context
For a half a century Audubon de México has worked in the San Miguel de Allende region to promote appreciation and protection of all habitats.
Our Guiding Principles
We are a community service organization with a focus on people and partnerships. We engage all of society and emphasize education.
Our People
Our Board of Directors and staff are passionate about nature and the community of San Miguel de Allende and lead our organization’s direction and work hands-on in implementing our programs.
Our Partners
We value partnerships that further a shared commitment to protecting the health of nature and the people of San Miguel and in manifesting a sustainable San Miguel.
what we believe
Sociedad Audubon de México AC is based in San Miguel de Allende, a beautiful colonial town in the mountains of central Mexico.
Our heritage uniquely focuses on protecting birds and conserving their habitats, but we understand that all manner of life is inextricably bound together.
Through birds we seek to connect people and nature and encourage the stewardship of the natural world for the countless ways it supports and enriches our lives, and for the sake of nature itself.
“Tug on anything at all and you’ll find it connected
to everything else in the universe.”
— John Muir
our vision
Our vision is to be an effective advocate for the protection and appreciation of the elements of nature in the San Miguel de Allende area and a leader in the pursuit of a sustainable and just society.
Our Mission
Sociedad Audubon de México recognizes that a healthy environment is critical to the survival of all living beings. Through education, conservation, and recreation we promote environmental stewardship to ensure the welfare of all life in San Miguel de Allende – for today and as a legacy to the generations to come.
